“After months of discussion with Sony, we regret to say that while we have long been ready to offer mod support on PlayStation 4, Sony has informed us they will not approve user mods the way they should work: where users can do anything they want for either Fallout 4 or Skyrim Special Edition,” a post on Bethesda’s website reads.
Many Mods wont be on them because of Assets or Terms. (Also see: The PS4 Pro Won't Solve the PS4's Biggest Problem ) If you want to Mod Skyrim, Fallout or whatever Game, get the Pc Version, really. Now the company has confirmed that the efforts have met a brick wall in the form of Sony itself. For awhile Bethesda has been working with Sony to bring mods to the PS4. However with the PS4 and Xbox One, mod support has made its way to consoles.
So much so that many a PC gamer prefers playing these games on PC for mod support alone. Also known as modifications - these user generated pieces of content add a tremendous amount of replayability to the base game when you’re done with its main storyline. One of the biggest draws of Fallout 4 and Bethesda’s soon to be released Skyrim Special Edition is mods.
